The Autodesk Material Library consists of several shared sub-libraries of materials and textures that are installed with some Autodesk products such as Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit and 3ds Max. Without the required material libraries installed, 3D objects that were created in other Autodesk products such as Autodesk Revit or Autodesk Civil 3D may display inaccurately in your InfraWorks models. Why do I need the Autodesk Material Library? This can occasionally cause issues with the display of textures and materials for 3D objects that you import to or export from Autodesk InfraWorks. When you select the option, all local materials and appearances are updated automatically to the styles in the library in the active project.By default, the Autodesk Material Library is not installed when you install Autodesk InfraWorks. Instead of opening the files manually, you can update your batch of models to the styles in a library of the active project. In Task Scheduler, in both the Migration task and the Update Design task, this setting updates materials and appearances in batches of files. This setting will batch update all local materials and appearances by automatically comparing with Project active Library. A new setting, Update Local materials And Appearance is added in the Task Scheduler Migration Options dialog box.For more information, refer to this post on the Inventor Product Support blog Being Inventive. The new option “Migrate Color Style to Generic” replaces the need to set the environment variable "InvCM_ForceConvertToGeneric" which converted legacy colors to generic type in Inventor R2013. When selected, it creates a generic appearance for each color style in the appearance of the Inventor 2012 shaded view color style. A new migration setting, Migrate color styles to generic, is added to the Material Styles Migration dialog box.
